Mark Pringle: Yes Yes Y'all
Way back in the mists of time, when dinosaurs like Go West ruled the earth, and the Linn Drum was King, Martin Colyer and I recruited a 17-year-old Heather Small to form an old-fashioned soul combo, Hot House. We fluked our way into publishing and recording contracts, and made a couple of albums which... did no business whatsoever. Ah well, it was fun at the time. Heather went on to fame and, we hope, fortune as part of Handbag-House equipe M-People.

Anyway, here you can find a few examples of our, er, oeuvre.

"Dylan? Rap? A more tuneful Lou Reed? I really dug it"
– Peter Guralnick

The Backhouse Boys (In The Basement) is an ongoing experiment in lo-fidom. Colyer and I spend as little time as possible mangling treasures from Bob Dylan's Basement Tapes, interspersed with liquid lunches and bouts of daytime TV.

Liner notes by Tiny Montgomery!

Here you can find some examples of the TV themes I have written and recorded, primarily for movie-related programmes on BBC 2.

Also here are some short stings I created for News Multimedia – yes, I've taken the Murdoch shilling. NM was meant to be making CD Roms back when they were going to be the Next Big Thing. Rupert, being a clever bugger, saw which way the wind was blowing and pulled the plugs before too much damage was done to his balance sheet.

After Hot House imploded, I got together with Pete 'Eighteen With A Bullet' Wingfield to do some songwriting. Somehow he tolerated my smelly 14th-floor council flat long enough to produce some of the tunes here. And we had lots of fun.

Also here are some tunes Martin Colyer and I did with the very splendid Michelle Jones, East London's answer to Chaka Khan. Funk-Rock Y'all!
